（1） Desulfurization principle:
SO2＋H2O→H2SO3
H2SO3→H＋＋HSO3－
HSO3－ →H＋＋SO3－
SO32－＋1/2 O2→SO42－
The H+generated in the above reactions reacts with carbonates in seawater as follows:
CO32－＋H＋→HCO3－
HCO3－＋H＋→H2CO3→CO2＋H2O
（2） Description of seawater desulfurization process:
The seawater desulfurization process mainly consists of: flue gas system, seawater supply and discharge system, seawater recovery system, electrical control system, etc. After being dust removed by the dust collector, the flue gas discharged from the boiler is sent by the FGD system booster fan to the hot side of the gas gas heat exchanger (GGH) for cooling to improve the absorption efficiency of sulfur dioxide in the absorption tower. The cooled flue gas is sent from the bottom of the absorption tower and fully mixed with seawater evenly sprayed from the top of the tower in reverse contact. After purification, the flue gas is heated by GGH and sent to the atmosphere through the chimney.
（3） Advantages and disadvantages of seawater desulfurization
advantage:

2. No need to add any chemical substances;
3. No solid by-product emissions;
4. The desulfurization rate of the system can reach over 90%;
5. Low investment and operating costs;
6. Short construction period;
7. Easy to maintain and operate.
