1. Slag concept: It is the waste slag from blast furnace ironmaking, which flows out in a molten state from the blast furnace and undergoes water quenching treatment. Its chemical composition is mainly SiO2, CaO, Al2O3, Fe2O3, and has potential hydration activity and many good properties. After ultrafine grinding, slag powder can be used to prepare various high wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and high-strength special cements.
Due to the high moisture content and hardness of slag, it is not easy to grind. Only by grinding the slag to a specific surface area of 400m2/kg can the activity be stimulated, and the higher the specific surface area, the better the activity. Using slag powder as a concrete admixture can not only replace cement in equal quantities, but also greatly improve multiple properties of concrete. At present, most of the slag is used for mixing and grinding with clinker to produce cement, and the overall utilization level is not high.
