Regenerative burner
1、 Concept: Regenerative Burner (RCB) Regenerative burner is a type of burner that uses heat storage balls to recover heat from kiln flue gas and preheat air to achieve alternating combustion and uniform heating.
2、 Scope of application: Regenerative burners are mainly used in the field of industrial gas heating, known for their low NOx emissions and high combustion thermal efficiency. It is another major technological advancement after the self preheating burner. Mainly used in forging furnaces, heat treatment furnaces, steel rolling heating furnaces, head heating furnaces, metal melting furnaces, and glass tank kilns.

The regenerative burner connects the heat exchange system to the burner and is installed on the side wall of the furnace. It is then operated in pairs through a reversing slide valve.
3、 Working principle of regenerative burner:
A set of regenerative burner system includes at least two burners, two heat accumulators, a heat recovery system, and corresponding control devices. The burner and heat accumulator can be directly connected together according to the actual situation on site or alternatively connected together using pipes cast with refractory materials.
When one burner uses the hot air in the heat accumulator for combustion, the other burner functions as a smoke exhaust port, using a smoke exhaust fan to extract the hot air from the furnace and store heat through the burner into the heat accumulator. When the heat is fully stored, the directional valve acts to switch the functions of the two burners. Whenever one burner is burning, the other is helping the heat accumulator to store heat. In heat exchange, the temperature of the exhaust gas in the pipeline is usually between 150 and 200 ℃, so both butterfly valves and smoke exhaust fans can work reliably for a long time.
Proper installation and selection of regenerative burners can successfully save 70% of energy and improve combustion efficiency by 90%.
