What are the components of coke oven gas?

Coke oven gas, also known as coke oven gas, English name: Coke Oven Gas (COG), belongs to medium calorific value gas, raw gas or raw gas. It refers to a combustible gas produced by preparing several types of bituminous coal into coking coal, which is subjected to high-temperature dry distillation in the coking furnace, while producing coke and tar products. It is a byproduct of the coking industry. Generally, each ton of dry coal can produce coke oven gas: 300-350m3 (standard state).

Coke oven gas consists of hydrogen (55% - 60%) and methane (23% - 27%), as well as a small amount of carbon monoxide (5% - 8%), C2 and unsaturated hydrocarbon (2% - 4%), carbon dioxide (1.5% - 3%), oxygen (0.3% - 0.8%) and nitrogen (3% - 7%). Hydrogen, methane, carbon monoxide, C2 and unsaturated hydrocarbon are combustible components, while carbon dioxide, nitrogen and oxygen are non combustible components.

1. Offline steel (iron) ladle baking is used to dry newly built bales, and to quickly or slowly bake turnover bales. When using coke oven gas, the heating temperature is around 1100 ± 50 ℃, the heating rate is 40 ℃/min, and the temperature difference inside the ladle (intermediate ladle) is about 30 ℃. The cold ladle is baked offline for about 2.5 hours, and the ladle lining temperature can reach over 1000 ℃.

2. When using coke oven gas to quickly bake the online steel ladle (tundish), it can be heated to above 1100 ℃, with a heating rate of ≥ 40 ℃/min, and a temperature difference of about 30 ℃.
