1、 The principle of magnesium oxide desulfurization:
Magnesium oxide desulfurization technology is a desulfurization process with a maturity second only to the calcium method. The magnesium oxide desulfurization process has a lot of application performance in various parts of the world, including multiple projects in Japan. 95% of power plants in Taiwan use the magnesium oxide method, and it has been applied in the United States, Germany, and other places. The magnesium desulfurization process is that the basic oxide of magnesium reacts with water to generate hydroxide, and then neutralizes with the sulfuric acid solution generated by dissolving sulfur dioxide in water. The magnesium oxide reacts to generate magnesium sulfite and magnesium sulfate, and the magnesium sulfite is oxidized to generate magnesium sulfate.

MgO+H2O=Mg(OH)2
Mg(OH)2+SO2=MgSO3+H2O
MgSO3＋ H2O+SO2=Mg(HSO3)2
MgSO3 +1/2O2 =MgSO4
3、 Characteristics of magnesium oxide desulfurization:

The magnesium method has low investment, low operating costs, high desulfurization efficiency, simple structure, and can reduce secondary pollution.
The advantage of magnesium based desulfurization over calcium based desulfurization is that it does not cause equipment scaling and blockage in the system, ensuring the effective operation of the entire desulfurization system. At the same time, the pH value of magnesium based desulfurization is controlled between 6.0 and 6.5.
